COURCES DESCRIPTION

Anatomy & Physiology of the Vertebral Column & Spinal Cord

 In this Course, bones, muscles, vessels, nerves and the kinesiology of all joints and muscles of the Spinal Column are analyzed, the anatomy of the cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine and a detailed description of muscle fibers, tendon structures of the joints, ligaments and dermatomes are presented. Finally, a correlation between muscle function and potential injuries, as well as prevention and treatment are discussed.

 

Neurochemistry & Neurophysiology & Clinical Examination – Imaging Techniques

 In this Course, the spinal cord signal transduction pathways & neurochemistry of signal transmission are described. A detailed description of the physiology of the medulla and medullary cone of the cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine as well as aspects of pathophysiology of spinal cord injuries are discussed., The symptomatology of injuries and their prevention and treatment plan.

 

Biomechanics of the Spine

In this course, basic principles of physics and biomechanics are analyzed. Description of the various degrees of freedom and mobility of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine as well as the application of basic biomechanic are presented. Analysis of Posture Profile and Spinal Movement Patterns Based on Biomechanics Principles are analyzed.

 

Traumatic Injuries & Degenerative Spine & Spinal Cord Injuries

In this course, traumatic injuries of the Spinal Cord are described. Degenerative lesions of the Spinal Column and Spinal Cord, and a detailed analysis of the symptomatology, pathophysiology, clinical picture and the basic principles of treatment, hospitalization and follow-up are provided.

 

System disorders (nervous, cardiovascular, digestive, urinary) in patients with spinal cord injuries

This course describes and analyzes functional changes of individual systems following Spinal Cord injury. Diagnostic methods, monitoring and treatment of different cases are presented.

 

Diagnosis of a patient with Spinal Cord injury – Clinical & imaging methods

In this course, spinal cord imaging and diagnostic techniques are described. Analysis of basic principles, sensitivity and specificity of the various imaging techniques for each pathological entity is provided

 

Infections & patients with Spinal Cord injuries

In this course, an analysis and presentation of the main infectious agents as well as their effects on Spinal Column and Spinal Cord infections is made. Pathophysiology, clinical picture, laboratory and imaging investigations and treatment options are presented

Spinal pain: etiology - approach

In this course there is a detailed description of the anatomy of the cervical, thoracic, and Lumbar Spinal Cord, Spine as well as their physiological significance.

 

Treatment of Spinal Cord damage - Support of systems (nervous, cardiovascular, digestive, urinary) in patients with Spinal Cord damage

In this course there is an analysis of therapeutic approaches of the individual systems following Spinal Cord injury.

 

Rehabilitation of Spinal Cord damage - Physical rehabilitation

This course focuses on the analysis of physical therapy approaches and rehabilitation techniques, functional evaluation and follow-up of patients with Spinal Cord injury.

 

Spinal pain: conservative treatment

In this lesson, the anatomy of the individual pain transfer pathways is described. Analysis of different biochemical and pathophysiological mechanisms is provided

 

Spinal pain: surgical treatment

In this course there is a description and analysis of surgical techniques for pain management following Spinal Cord Injury.
